If you have long hair or longish thick or fine hair like me. You’ll need to choose a heated hair brush with a wider barrel. Longer hair will tangle too easily in a barrel that’s too thin. That said, there aren’t too many 2″ heated curling brushes about. To find one that’s also good is harder. But the INFINITIPRO By CONAIR ticks all the right boxes.

What stands out about this one is that it has a black titanium barrel. Now titanium is fundamentally different from ceramic in that it’s a metal.

But don’t think we are back to the age before technology. Titanium has superior heating qualities and produces 100% more ions than a standard curling iron brush that has ion generation.

Titanium will give you lasting curls, with exceptional shine and the large barrel will help to add volume to limp and lifeless hair.

Though titanium is the best option for thicker hair due to its superior heat conducting properties. This brush has 5 temperature settings so it’s still suitable for all types of hair.

There’s a digital readout too so you can keep a closer eye on your temperature setting.

And lastly, titanium is lighter than ceramic. The brush feels lighter in your hand than a ceramic one would and this does make styling feel easier and more effortless, though to be honest, I’ve no idea why.

When you take a closer look, there are no seamed edges on the corners of this chair – it’s made from one single piece of leather.

This is something you just don’t get with other lesser quality reproductions.

This chair is made from top-grain aniline leather, all four edges under the bottom cushion are Italian leather and there is a breathable fabric center.

If you are wondering what top-grain aniline is, don’t worry, I’ll explain:

What’s Top Grain Aniline Leather?

Aniline is a dye. It’s a translucent, water-soluble dye that is used along with oils, to soak all the way through into tanned leather.

Because it doesn’t contain any insoluble pigments, the leather is much softer and richer and maintains all its own characteristics including the natural grain but also, of course, any markings or wrinkles.

So this means only the highest quality Italian Napa leather is suitable for this process, as the imperfections of lesser quality leather would just show through.

But wait, there’s is a downside that I have to mention before I wrap it up and say you should just go ahead and get one.

Because Aniline leather doesn’t have a layer of any insoluble pigments sprayed onto it, it’s more porous and so sensitive to water or grease.

Top grain aniline leather, on the other hand, has a thin coating of non-soluble pigment applied to the surface which hides any imperfections.

So this means the quality of leather used does have to be quite so high but it’s still very high quality, and a step up in grade to Italian leather.

It’s also pretty easy to clean.

There are just a couple more things I need to mention:

A genuine Barcelona Chair is difficult and expensive to make due to the amount of handcrafted workmanship that has to go into its making. That is no less the case with a high-quality replica.

Both cushions are entirely hand-stitched and the individual squares of leather are cut from a single hide which is then sewn, welted, and tufted.

Unlike some, which only have nylon straps, the straps on this one are strong high-quality thick hide leather, and the heavy welded single-piece stainless steel frame has been accurately reproduced and is hand polished.

Pros:

• Top-Grain Aniline Leather – What stands out about this one is that it’s made from premium imported top-grain Italian leather on all sides of the cushions. It’ll look and feel rich and soft from every direction.

Because of this process, the leather quality doesn’t have to be quite so high though it’s still higher-quality than even Italian leather alone.

There’s an advantage to Top Grain Aniline leather too, and that is that it does make the leather less sensitive to water and grease stains so it is it’s a slightly more durable option, to go for.

Mine is Top-Grain Aniline Italian leather. It does feel softer than Italian leather. I have a sofa in Italian leather to compare it with, and though it’s not as soft as Aniline, it is beautiful, natural-looking and soft to the touch.

Like our previous choice, this chair has no seamed edges on the corners it’s made from a single piece of leather. It also has Italian top grain aniline leather on all sides of the cushions not just the bits you can see. The underside has a breathable fabric center.

What We Like:

• Italian Top-Grain Aniline leather – It has a thin coating of insoluble pigment spayed over the surface. It’s higher quality than Italian leather, though one step down from Aniline which is completely natural and breathable. This actually has an advantage in that it’s more hard-wearing and less water|grease sensitive.

When you get to under $400 there’s a marked difference in quality and closeness to the original design. While some are just bad imitations others have their own merit, being just loosely based on the original design.

We’ll take a look at a few now.

Coaster Home Furnishings Armless Waffle Accent Chair

At first glance, it’s pretty similar, but there are some big differences that are easy to spot.

Firstly, if you look at the metal frame above, there are supporting wedge pieces in the area that crosses. That’s because the metal isn’t nearly as strong as our top two choices. It, therefore, needs this extra support to prevent the frame from bending.

The seat’s also held on with elastic loops that are clearly visible underneath. Higher-end versions of the chair have concealed leather straps that secure the cushion to the framework underneath the seat so you can’t see them at all. And the back is different too. There are no thick strong leather straps on this one. You’ll also notice that there are no buttons on this one either.

Our Opinion:

So you see the details that would make this a good replica are just not there.

If they were, you could forgive the fact that this is leatherette which only kinda looks like leather from a distance.

It feels a bit too firm and looks plasticky close-up.

I wanted to like it, but it just doesn’t do it for me. At just over the $200 mark you could probably choose a nice chair in a different style. But if it’s not heading for the pride of place in your lounge, it’s worth considering as a budget option.

Studio Designs Home Modern Atrium Velvet Accent Chair

The Studio Designs chair is a nice looking chair that’s clearly based on the original. It’s more of an interpretation of the Barcelona chair than a copy but it’s probably better for it.

The velvet cover looks better than the cheap leatherette versions out there and though it doesn’t have the buttons, the polyester velvet looks more modern and minimalist without them.

The frame is sturdier than the last one we looked at too. There are no wedges in the part where it crosses to support it and keep it from bending when you sit down.

Like the previous option, there are no straps on the back or the underneath as there would be in a good replica. This one is just board. But the chair is comfortable and comes in a choice of two colors, mink brown or the velvet slate blue, shown above.

Our Opinion:

If you are looking for a good replica of the Barcelona chair, this isn’t it. But it’s a nice looking chair that’s loosely based on the original.

You see most bean bags have micro-suede covers and while the fabric is soft and suitable for its purpose, it can look a little creased and untidy.

Of course, Jaxx also does a micro-suede version too, which you can see in the photo at the very top of this post.

However, chenille is just plusher and more high-end looking, it’s also a popular fabric for soft-furnishings because of its soft, rich appearance and that lovely two-tone shimmer.

But that doesn’t mean it’s not practical.

Chenille that is made for upholstery is generally made from hardwearing polyester and that’s the case with this couch. So the cover is machine washable in cold water and it can even be tumble-dried on low heat.

Best Budget Bean Bag Couch: Sofa Sack XL 7.5 ft Bean Bag Couch

One thing that makes this couch such good value for money is that it has a memory foam blend fill.

Now memory foam is much denser than standard foam. It has magic exceptional bounce-back qualities. In fact, when it was first invented – before it was named memory foam – it was referred to just as slow spring back foam and that about sums it up.

Unlike a regular couch that has some structure to it, bean bag couches are all filling. So the bounce-back properties of memory foam are a welcome addition. Memory foam also lasts around 3 times longer than regular foam.

The only downside is that like many of the cheaper bean bag options out there, the fill isn’t particularly generous.

But before you go all out and buy extra filling you’d be better off getting this one fluffed up as it comes and then see what you think. It basically comes down to personal preference or whether all the foam pieces have been properly separated.

We’ll now go over a few general points about this bean bag couch that you should consider.

Just remember that like our top pick this couch is huge, and that means it’s at least 7’5″ considering it will naturally spill over at the edges. But that doesn’t mean this couch is made for more people than you want it for.

Just like a standard couch, it’ll seat around 2 -3 people. But bean bags don’t have a structure to keep them in check like regular furniture: they’re voluminous by nature. So you’ll need to allow some room for the edges of the couch to envelop around you – I mean you wouldn’t sit right on the end anyway.

But remember, as I’ve said before, they won’t quite behave in the same way as a regular couch. You have to think of them more like a day bed and just dive straight in.

Lastly, I need to mention the covers. These ones are a lovely super soft micro velvet they’re also double stitched for extra strength, and they’re durable. You get a nice choice of color options too.

Now for the downside: This couch, unlike our top choice, doesn’t come with an inner bag. That means that although you can technically remove the cover to wash it, (because it does have a secure zipper) it’s a massive pain to do so.

That said, this option is very affordable and considering it’s our budget option, there’s nothing cheap about the quality.

Best Cocoon Bean Bag Couch: Jaxx 6 ft Cocoon bean Bag Couch

This big donut-shaped one would be perfect for a corner but it would equally look amazing right in the center of a room if you have enough space.

We’ve already featured a Jaxx sofa as our top pick but this cocoon-shaped one, also from Jaxx, is no less of a good choice. It’s just not strictly couch shaped and that’s the only reason it missed out.

The cocoon is also 1 foot smaller than our other two picks so far, but as it’s round and measures 6 feet across, it’s pretty much as big as you’d ever want to go. That said, it will still easily seat two adults.

It does also have one big advantage over the oblong-shaped ones and that is that it’s easily moldable into a big comfortable chair.

As you can see in the photo to the left, which shows you the soft micro-velvet cover option, you just have to turn it on its side.

Of course, we had to show you how gorgeous the chenille version that we’ve already featured looks in this cocoon shape, in the top photo.

But the faux fur version shown below is equally stunning.

In fact, I’d say for this shape, faux fur looks even better.

You see you wouldn’t generally choose a fur fabric couch but the cocoon-shaped ones look less like a couch than the oblong ones do anyway. So the faux fur fabric just looks better on this shape.

And, there are a few different faux fur fabrics to choose from. The one shown above, my favorite, is called Silver Fox, you can see a close up in the swatch to the right.

Its made from acrylic, just so you know, no actual foxes are in there. The cover is removable and it’s machine washable too.

What We Like:

• Shape – Though not a conventional couch shape, this one has a big advantage over the oblong-shaped ones in that it can easily be molded into a big comfortable chair. It is also the best shape to choose if you have a corner to fill or you have enough space in the center of a room.
• Fabric – The covers on this one have a more sophisticated high-end look. The faux fur one, in particular, looks amazing on the cocoon shape. It’s also the kind of fabric choice you only get with Jaxx bean bag couches.
• Inner Liner Bag – Again it has an advantage over the budget option above in that this one has a polyester/nylon ripstop inner liner bag with a childproof zipper. This makes life so much easier if you want to remove the cover to wash it. It also makes it a lot less messy if you want to add more filling.

Things to Consider:

Though smaller than our other choices above, it’s round so it will still take up a lot of room. Make sure you really do have space for a round shape or go for an oblong shape.

Best Wooden Outdoor Chaise Lounge: Safavieh Newport Chaise Lounge

To be honest, if you choose any decent quality one, it will be made from some type of hard-wearing weather-resistant wood that’s specifically suitable for the outdoors.

What makes this stand out from the rest is the craftsmanship that’s gone into those extra details like the decorative corner pieces and the adorable little built-in side table.

But that table isn’t just there to look pretty while it holds your drink for you. It’s clever too.

You see it’s designed to slide out from under the frame of the bed, so you can fold it away when you’re not using it.

You can see the detail more easily in the picture to the right, which also shows you the ash-gray wood finish version.

And that’s the thing: when you’re sitting and relaxing outside you’re going to want somewhere to put your stuff like a drink, sunscreen, and book, etc.

But trust me, it’s not that easy to find one that’ll match in with the style of your furniture and not look like it’s an afterthought that doesn’t quite go.

Plus the fact that it folds away, will make your outdoor space look way neater than having extra furniture on your patio hanging around. Clutter is never a good look.

On the wood quality scale, this is one is made from eucalyptus wood. Though not as long-lasting as teak which has super-wood qualities (a high mineral content), it’s much denser and more durable than the usual Acacia wood ones that you generally see.

Eucalyptus is by nature, rot- and decay-resistant and it has a high oil content which repels water and moisture. It weathers to a soft gray but can be stained back to its original tones, which just so you know, are a little more orange/red in real life than the picture shows.

And have we mentioned comfort yet? The seat pad is firm with an excellent bounce back. At just over 2″ thick you’re not going to feel the frame through it like you do with some others.

Pros:

• Eucalyptus Wood with Galvanized Steel Fixings – The wood is rot- and decay-resistant and it’s high oil content repels water and moisture. Those fixings are rust-resistant too.
• Cushions – The upholstery which is included, is nice and thick and it’s comfortable but firm to lie on. Just so you know, it’s polyester over a foam interior. What great about this one is that you get a choice of color, so you can go for a vibrant yellow, a sedate navy blue, or even a deckchair stripe in either navy and white, black and white or gray and white.
• Built-In, Pull-Out Side Table – Now this is just good design. It’s very handy to have a side table but you don’t always want extra furniture cluttering up your outdoor space.

Cons:

• Not Waterproof – You can’t leave these cushions out in the rain, as they’re not waterproof, so you’ll need to have somewhere dry to store them on rainy days.
• Assembly Required – It does require some assembly mostly just screwing it together and though there’s quite a lot of them it’s all zero skill required.

Best All-Weather Outdoor Chaise Lounge: Incbruce Adjustable Chaise Lounge for All-Weather 

That said, the black rattan and the turquoise cover combo takes me to my happy place and I think it’s simply stunning, just as it is.

What stands out about this one is its sleek curvy design. Not just because it looks good, which it does, but because it’s ergonomically designed, meaning it follows the contours of your body and raises and supports your legs more than other designs.

This will feel more natural and comfortable than having your back at a straight angle and your legs straight out.

And at a little over 2″ thick, the cushion is super comfortable.

But the best thing about this one, as far as I’m concerned, is that you don’t have to worry about bringing the cushion in if it rains. Because it’s waterproof.

That means it won’t soak water up like a wet sponge, leaving it soggy for days on end, and then give you a nasty surprise when you sit on it thinking it’ll be dry by now – and you won’t have to find somewhere to store it on day’s when it looks like it might rain.

What’s more, it’s also UV-protected, which means it’s resistant to fading in the hot sun too.

As you can see in the photo to the right, these chairs are well made.

The black rattan is handwoven over a rust and corrosion-resistant powder-coated steel frame. So they’ll last you for years.

It’s also worth mentioning that rattan has the advantage over wood as it’s breathable which means it lets the air pass through it and it’s cooler to the touch than wood when out in the hot sun all day.

And lastly, as you can see, this chair is adjustable between 4 positions. Handy if you want to sit up and read.

• This color takes me to my happy place but if turquoise really isn’t your color then this one isn’t for you.

However, if you’re buying 2 chairs and a table you’d be better off going for this option which is basically the same as buying 2 of the chairs above plus that extra side table, but you can save yourself some money by going for the set.
• This choice will need some assembly but it’s not rocket science, it’s basically screws but a little extra help from someone wouldn’t be unwelcome.

Best Foldable Outdoor Chaise Lounge Set: Flamaker 3 Pieces Chaise Lounge

You see the difference between this set and other chaise lounge chairs that look similar, is that these are completely foldable and they’re stackable too.

That means they’re not going to be an awkward shape and take up lots of extra space when you come to store them away, they’re completely slimline when folded and they’ve even got a discreet carry-handle built into the side of the frame, so they’re very easy to carry around.

The other thing that’s great about them is that there’s no assembly required. Because they’re specifically designed to be portable, the manufacturers have an easy job packing them up to send to you.

That means these chairs don’t need a ton of screws and questionable language to get them up and running.

And of course, they include that foldable side table too and that’s what makes choosing a set such a good idea.

You see single chaise lounge chairs just don’t come with side tables and so it’s up to you to find one that’ll match in with your style.

Best High-End Outdoor Chaise Lounge: Modway Outdoor Patio Sunbrella Chaise Lounge

This is more of a luxury choice than the other chaise lounges we’ve looked at so far.

As you can see from the photo, the quality just jumps off the page at you, so admittedly, there’s a bit of a jump in price too.

But there are more reasons that this made our top choice for this category than obviously appears. For one, the fabric on those soft 5″ thick cushions is Sunbrella fabric.

The other thing that knocks the spots off other cheaper versions of this style including one by the same company as this, is the bespoke looking extra thick, two-tone weave rattan, which gives the frame a softer more contoured outline.

And it’s that chunky two-tone weave rattan which makes all the difference between this chaise lounge and regular patio furniture.

You see this one would look equally at home indoors in a sunroom or summer house.

To be honest, when it comes down to it, it’s the frame on this model, more than the Sunbrella fabric itself, that you are paying a higher price tag for.

That becomes evident when you compare it with Modway’s other cheaper version with the same design. Both have Sunbrella Fabric, but the rattan on the other version is just a standard one. You could say it’s more basic – like the regular ones you see around. Of course, that one may be your preference, and if so, you should go for that one. You’ll still be getting a stunning, high-end chair made with 5″ thick Sunbrella Fabric cushions, and you’ll save yourself some money too.

Either way, this frame is built to last, it’s made from powder-coated aluminum and the rattan is UV protected.

And if all that’s not enough to impress you, it comes fully assembled so you can breathe a sigh of relief and put that screwdriver back in the draw.

Basically, this is the best quality you can get for your money, but if you’re going to buy two, I recommend you at least consider the double one first, which we’ve featured next, as it’ll save you a quite a few bucks.

Pros:

Best Double Outdoor Chaise Lounge: Modway Sunbrella Double Chaise Lounge

You’ll notice it’s basically the double version of our best high-end single chaise lounge above.

However, buying this double version is way better value for money than buying two of the single Modways chaise lounge chairs.

In fact, if you compare this gray double, for example, with the price of two gray single chaise lounges, this one works out to be around 39% cheaper and the navy option will save you around 30%. The prices for the different color options tend to vary according to how popular they are.

Now I won’t go into too many details about the features of this one so that I’m not repeating myself, but like the single version, this is high-end furniture and that means:

It’ll feel more like relaxing on a couch or your bed than normal patio furniture. These cushions are 4″ thick. Most others out there are only 2″ thick.

You also get the king of all fabrics, Sunbrella fabric! If you missed what that means, prepare to be very impressed and scroll to read from here.

For me, what makes this chaise lounge a piece of high-end furniture rather than just a patio chair is its high-end chunky two-tone weave, rattan frame.

I’m not saying that the standard chocolate brown/black rattan weave frames that you generally see on patio furniture are in any way lower quality than this one, They’re all made of synthetic wicker which is ultra hardwearing and weatherproof. This one just looks a little more natural – like real wicker.

If you prefer the standard brown/black rattan however you should go for the Modway Sojoun range, it also has the Sunbrella fabric cushions but it will save you a little money.

Because that’s the thing, it’s the frame that you’re paying a little more for with Modway’s Summon Range.

That said, I think this one is well worth paying that bit extra for.

After all, it’ll pay you back by rewarding you with years of luxury and good taste.

If you a looking for a heated throw to keep out the chill of a drafty house, without resorting to turning the heating up all the way, or you are just plain fed up with the cold and long for a little summer warmth, the Dreamland Relaxwell Intelliheat Faux Fur Heated Throw, will bring you all the warmth and comfort you could wish for, while being the ultimate luxury accessory for you home.

There is something very restful about the colours found in nature.

Are there any downsides?

As with all faux fur, a few stray hairs may shed themselves when the throw is brand new but this is only temporary and shouldn’t be very noticeable.

Heated throws, of course, have wires inside so you can feel them with your fingers, but they are flexible, neatly sewed in place throughout, and padded by the super-soft velvety, 100% Polyester micro mink underside – so you won’t feel or notice them when you snuggle up under the throw.

So no! As I have said previously in my other reviews of this range, in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with any of the Dreamland heated throw collection.

Whichever you go for, the intelligent, high-quality technology behind each model remains the same.

However, for looks, the Dreamland Intelliheat Deluxe Zebra Faux Fur Heated Throw is outstanding. It truly is beautiful! I love greys and whites for their tranquility and air of quiet sophistication.

Actually, anyone who knows me will tell you that calming nature-inspired colours are my favorite. This throw would look so fabulous over a pale grey or white pure linen duvet and add an air of opulence and warmth to a plain, or cold lounge.

You too will look fabulous with it wrapped around you! Most importantly, though, it will help you to relax and feel comfortable and warm no matter how chilly it gets.
