Top Pick – Best Portable Massage Table: INNER STRENGTH Portable Massage Table Package
Our Top Pick | Best Portable Massage Table
INNER STRENGTH Portable Massage Table Package
You don’t often find a high-end product without the high price tag to match. But this is one of those rare finds. It isn’t just a cheap Chinese copy of a high-end one either. It’s made by a subsidiary of the US company Earthlite, a well respected, brand who specialize in high-end massage equipment.
It’s just as well made as those made by INNER STRENGTH’s parent company but costs a lot less than any of their main brand ones.
There are, it has to be said, a lot of cheaper but still, decent-looking Chinese made massage tables out there, and we will take a look at a couple in this guide, but they’re not nearly as well made as this one and where they compromise is on the frame’s strength and stability.
Let’s face it the absolute last thing you want is for your massage table to break or even just wobble and squeak under the weight of your client. It could damage your reputation or at the very least, cause embarrassment to your client and yourself.
This massage table has a quality hardwood frame and it’s strong – making it suitable for more intensive sessions such as deep tissue massage or sports massage, etc. It has a 600lbs working weight and the frame has a full-length piano hinge and a patented cradle lock cabling system for added strength and stability.
It has convenient Reiki endplates to allow for closer proximity to clients and Shiatsu release cables, ideal for work at floor level, (a feature cheaper models don’t have).
Where it stands out is the 3″ thick PU vinyl cushioning. That’s thicker than most and a great asset in terms of your client’s comfort.
It’s easily foldable and portable and just as easy to set up. The legs have a 10 inches range of adjustment, suitable for most heights. It comes with it owns carry-case.
What We Like:
- Strong | It has a 600lbs working weight, the frame’s construction has a strong full-length piano hinge and it has a patented cradle lock cabling system.
- Shiatsu Release Cables | This is a feature you may or may not need, but it’s definitely a feature they don’t all have.
- 3″ Thick PU Vinyl Cushioning | For extra comfort. 2″ is more the norm. It also has a fully adjustable face cradle.
- Warranty | 5-year limited warranty on the frame and a 1 year on foam and vinyl.
Buying Factors to Consider:
The only downside to this one is that it doesn’t have a shelf or sling style armrest. If this is something you think you would need, you should go for or alt pick next.
- Weight | 32lbs.
- Dimensions | 30ā x 73ā
- Height Range | 23ā to 33ā

Best Portable – Alternative Top Pick:
Best Portable – Alternative Top Pick
Master Massage 31″ Montclair Professional Portable Massage Table
This is another sturdy and well-made option. It has a similar spec to our top choice and that’s why it’s our alternative pick.
There’s not much in the price difference, if you choose this black option (though the other color options do cost a little more). But it is slightly wider at 31″ and it has a shelf style hanging armrest which is something our top choice doesn’t come with.
This may not something that matters to everyone. But if you are used to working with this type of armrest, it’s good to have one included.
Our alternative pick also has a strong construction. It has a working weight of 750 lbs so there’s no chance that the frame will warp or break. The legs are made from European beach wood and have an attractive mahogany finish. They have numbered adjustment holes so it’s easy to set the table up and suitable for most working heights.
It also features Reiki panels, so those who specialize in Reiki can work closer to their clients. Additionally, it has a Shiatsu cable release for those who need to work at floor level.
The padding is thick and soft. It’s 3″ of foam with a layer of memory foam, encased in a soft PU upholstery cover.
Lastly, it has a strong carry case with a sturdy shoulder strap and an adjustable cross-body strap for comfort and ease while carrying it to and from sessions.
What We Like:
- Strong | It has a 750 lbs working weight.
- Shiatsu Release Cables | Again, this is a feature you may or may not need, but it’s a feature, not all massage tables have.
- 3″ Thick PU Cushioning | For extra comfort.

- Weight | 36lbs.
- Dimensions | 31ā x 84ā (Length with the face cradle.)
- Height Range | 24ā to 34ā
Budget Massage Table: Saloniture Professional Portable Folding Massage Table
Best Budget Massage Table
Saloniture Professional Portable Folding Massage Table
This is a professional-looking massage table with a ton of extras for a budget price.
It comes with a 3″ thick soft face cradle and an optional breath hole with snug-fitting plug. It also features a shelve-style hanging armrest and two removable winged armrests.
But it’s not all positives, the construction is not nearly as strong as our top pick, though it is designed to hold a maximum weight capacity of 450 lbs.
The Cushioning isn’t as thick either. It’s just the standard 2″ but it’s an overall nice looking massage table and may be enough for your needs.
What We Like:
- Extras | It does come with the additional breath hole, a hanging armrest, and the winged armrests.
Buying Factors to Consider:
It may not last as long as our top pick, unless you are using it for lighter massage techniques such as hot stone massage, aromatherapy massage or for beauty treatments, etc, but it’s very affordable and there’s no doubt that it’s good value for the money.

Best Electric Massage Table: EARTHLITE Ellora Electric Massage Table
Best Electric Massage Table
EARTHLITE Ellora Electric Massage Table
This electrically powered, massage table is ideal for a massage clinic, spa, or treatment room setting, where table adjustment rather than portability is a key requirement.
With its 3″ thick triple-density cushioning and Natursoft upholstery (which feels similar to fine glove leather) it’s as comfortable for the client as it is professional looking. You can choose between a flat or a manual tilt table. The manual tilt option being the more versatile of the two and most suitable for clients who may find it difficult to lie down or sit up before or after the treatment is over.
What stands out most, and really makes this massage table such a worthwhile investment is its ability to give you hands-free, electric table height adjustment via the easy-to-use foot pedal.
For the massage therapist, it’s easy to make smooth micro-adjustments, to obtain the most comfortable height for treatment, avoiding any over strenuous reaching or straining of the lower back.
The smooth, quiet, electric scissor lift operation makes this massage table safer and so much more comfortable for the client too, allowing them to get on and off the table more easily. This is especially desirable for those who have discomfort or mobility problems.
Additionally, the table also has an ADA compliant height range of between 17ā and 36ā making it ideal for easy wheelchair transference.
The powder-coated, solid steel frame is powered by a heavy-duty UL-listed motor that has a working weight capacity of up to 600lbs.
It would have been a nice addition to have a face cradle included, but these are, at least, available separately to match your color choice and there are wooden outlets on both ends of the table for easy attachment.
What We Like:
- Suitable for Professional or Commercial Use | It’s perfect for day spas, tattoo parlors, massage clinics, and beauty salons, etc. as well as home-based small businesses.
- Electric Scissor Lift System | For the therapist it will prevent any over strenuous reaching or straining of the back. For the client, it’s safer and easier to climb on and off the massage table.
- Warranty | The Ellora is backed up by a lifetime warranty on the frame, and two years on the motors and foot pedal.
Buying Factors to Consider:
The step-up in price from a foldable to an electric one is steep. But this is a professional high-quality massage table and in the long term, the benefits will far outweigh the initial outlay.

Best Stationary Massage Table:
Best Stationary Massage Table
This a more affordable mid-priced option for salons, spas, and home-run businesses, etc.
It’s static but can be easily be adjusted from 26″-33″ for maximum working-height comfort for therapists and their clients.
It’s the most flexible, and ergonomically shaped massage table we have looked at in terms of the reclining positions it can offer. It has 3 sections and is adjustable at each.
The lower two sections are adjustable to 7 different angles for maximum lower leg comfort, and the backrest can be positioned from 0 to 40Ā° (from semi-reclined to flat).
It has a 2.5ā high-density foam deck and sturdy frame allowing for a working weight capacity of 500 lbs.
It comes with a removable armrest, a face cradle, and there’s an additional optional breath hole with a plug.
What We Like:
- 3 Section Adjustability | It’s a versatile table and easily adjustable at all three sections. You can see just how easy it is to adjust the sections in the video above.
- Adjustable Armrest Height | The armrest can be set to 2 different heights by locking into different holes in the middle section.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much weight will a massage table hold?
Foldable massage tables tend to have less weight capacity than stationary ones. They can generally hold weights of anything up to 400 lbs. That said, some of the higher-quality portable ones have been tested to hold around 600 lbs of weight, which is more on par with a stationary massage table or the electrically operated ones.
While portable massage tables that have a lower weight capacity are often lighter to carry, they are not generally as well made. Therefore weight capacity is an important factor when determining the build quality.
What is the best width for a massage table?
Standard massage tables are often around 23 inches wide. Wider ones maybe 28, 30 or 32 inches wide. While it might be assumed that a wider one will better, this isn’t always the case for the massage therapist. A wider table will require more of a reach for if you aren’t tall and working daily in a position that isn’t comfortable will only put a strain on your lower back muscles.
So in general if you are tall, a wider massage table may be a good option, but if you are smaller, a narrower one may be your best choice.
How much does a massage table cost?
Portable massage tables are generally cheaper than a stationary massage table and cost considerably less than a motorized one. There are many cheaply made models on the market that cost around the $100 mark.
However, you can expect to pay anywhere between $300 – $500 for a good quality high-end portable model.
Stationary massage tables tend to be priced more in the mid-range. You can expect to pay, on average, around $500.
Electric or hydraulic massage tables are the most expensive type and are generally used in commercial settings such as spas, salons or massage clinics. This type of massage table will generally cost well over $1000.
What are Reiki endplates?
Standard massage tables without Reiki endplates generally have a bar or piece of wood across the legs at each end of the table to provide stability and support for the table’s legs.
Reiki endplates have an arch design structure instead of a bar which allows the therapist to sit closer to the client with their legs tucked under the table. This is ideal for Reiki, hence the name, but it’s also good for reflexology, foot massage, or facials, etc.
